Business recycling is vital for the future
As we see recycling rates in homes across the UK continue to rise, with areas such as Scotland having now risen to 34%, much of the focus has now turned to business recycling and the part which is particular area of the recycling trend has to play in the future. Even though there has been significant pressure on businesses around the UK to recycle as much as possible, there is still a need for more to be done with potential tax incentives to be given by the government.
It would be wrong to suggest that businesses are not taking the matter of recycling serious but there is also much more which could be done in this particular area. More and more business recycling companies are emerging in areas up and down the country offering services to recycle paper, recycle waste, recycling printers, recycle electronic equipment and other everyday office items. Not only does this particular type of service save businesses money, by having the items collected, but there are also significant savings for the economy and worldwide energy consumption.
As we have mentioned on numerous occasions, the energy used to recycle the vast majority of products and materials is only a fraction of that used when the products and materials are initially produced. With this in mind it is essential that the UK government and local authorities incentivised local businesses to recycle as much as possible and as soon as possible.
