Sony recycling program shows the way
In a strategy which is becoming more and more commonplace across the world, Sony has begun a large-scale recycling program which allows customers to drop off their old Sony electronic products and rechargeable batteries at any Sony store. The company then guarantees that the products will be either recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly fashion thereby increasing the amount of material and products which are reused and consequently reducing the overall impact on the environment.
Sony is also one of a growing band of computer manufacturers in the UK that have created a number of products which are partly built from recycled materials and are also more environment friendly. This has become a significant market around the world where “green computers” are becoming very popular as more and more people and more and more businesses seek to be seen to be doing something to help the environment and recycle materials where possible.
The more competition in this particular sector, the more companies that will be attracted which will see more benefits for consumers and businesses around the world. There are also signs of significant government funding and government assistance in this area of commerce which has been welcomed across the board.
