Recycling old tyres for the good of the community
Many people may not be aware that there are literally dozens and dozens of uses for the rubber from your old car tyres, motorbike tyres and rubber tyres in general. One such recycling method which has grown in popularity around the UK is the recycling of the rubber from old tyres into artificial football playing surfaces. Did you know that there are literally hundreds of football fields around the UK, mostly five aside pitches, which are literally made of thousands upon thousands of balls of old rubber?
This is just one of many recycling ideas which can be considered for the benefit of your local community and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of companies and individuals up and down the country who will collect your recycled tyres and take the appropriate action. What better way to dispose of that old worn out tyre than producing a good quality, soft and very safe five aside football pitch?
There are so many different things we can do with recycled rubber and recycled tyres but unfortunately the vast majority of old tyres are not recycled. However, this is beginning to change and hopefully as more people become more aware of the recycling opportunities available we should see a difference in the future.
