Brighton and Hove city council has this week announced the installation of recycling bins on the busiest beaches in Brighton which will allow holidaymakers to recycle mixed glass, plastic bottles, mixed paper, card, drink cans and food tins. Those who have visited beaches in UK at peak holiday seasons will be all too aware of the overflowing bins and problem with rubbish and litter. However, it is hoped that recycling bins located just yards from the waterfront will encourage holidaymakers to recycle their litter and ultimately keep the area tidy and free of rubbish.

Up and down the UK there are more and more plans to introduce recycling bins in some of the busiest areas and busy streets of the country. Public awareness of recycling has increased dramatically over the last few years and many people are now more than willing to separate their various rubbish into the recycling bins available.

Even though there is still a long way to go regarding the UK recycling program and ultimately much work to be done with regards to helping the environment, there is no doubt that attitudes and actions have changed dramatically over the last decade and there is a stronger push for recycling and more environmentally friendly packaging and products.
