Free energy-saving light bulbs save on recycling
Over the last few months the government has been forced to make significant changes in the light bulb market where the more traditional bulbs are being replaced by energy efficient and longer lasting light bulbs. As a consequence we have seen a number of free energy-saving light bulb offers with The Sun newspaper and Tesco in particular very proactive in this particular field.
Aside from the fact that by using energy-efficient light bulbs you can save up to £675 a year from your energy bills did you know that energy-saving light bulbs last 12 times longer than more traditional light bulbs?
The real benefit to customers is the saving on energy with energy-saving light bulbs using 20% of the energy used by normal light bulbs.
However, the most startling fact is that if every household in the UK installed just three energy-saving light bulbs this would save enough energy to power the UK street lighting system for a full 12 months!
Even though there are significant benefits in using any energy saving light bulbs, in some cases they are not as bright as traditional light bulbs although the technology is improving step-by-step. However, when you compare this to the significant savings on energy is there really any reason to argue against the use of energy-saving light bulbs?
